European Economic and Social Committee Internships are offered twice a year, for a period of five months to university graduates who are nationals of the Member States of the European Union, as well as to a number of university graduates from non-EU countries (long-term traineeship).
In addition, the EESC can offer short, unpaid traineeships from one to three months to university graduates or university students who are required to complete their degree by undertaking a period of in-service training (short-term traineeship).
Long-term European Economic and Social Committee Internships
These periods of in-service training offer an opportunity to learn about the EESC’s roles and activities and to acquire professional experience in a multicultural environment. They begin on 16 February and 16 September of each year and take place in the Committee’s offices in Brussels. For a brief description of the EESC’s organization chart and tasks typically carried out by trainees, please consult this document
Long-term trainees are given a monthly grant in accordance with the provisions regarding traineeships at the EESC (Decision 201/16 A). For long-term traineeships taking place within the time period 16/02/2018 – 15/02/2019, the amount of the grant is a lump sum of 1.176,84 EUR per month. The amount will remain unchanged until the end of the 2018 autumn session (15/02/2019).
Short-term European Economic and Social Committee Internships
Unpaid traineeships for short periods (minimum one month, maximum three months) are occasionally available with no age limit for university students and recent graduates.
This will remain valid for six months. If the organization is in a position to offer a traineeship during that period, it will get in touch with you and ask you to submit the supporting documents: a copy of your university diploma(s) (candidates without a diploma can provide a certificate confirming attendance at a university or college of an equivalent level), proof of valid health insurance, a police certificate and a medical certificate (proving that you are medically fit to carry out the traineeship).
