The In-Country/ In-Region Medicine Scholarship Programme Scholarships supports studies in subject areas with strong relevance to national development. The scholarships at the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia (PDIB FKKUI) are available in the following fields: Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences. The duration of the Ph.D. programme is three years.

Duration: one year

 Medicine Scholarship Offer:

  • Tuition fees the regularly charged amount
  • Study and research allowance 920 Euro per annum
  • Printing allowance of up to 600 Euros for Ph.D. scholarship holder. It is paid once during the last 6 months of your scholarship period
  • Monthly  Scholarship (Accommodation, Food etc.)
  • Ph.D. Scholarship holders 650 Euro
  • Travel allowance (In-Region only) Flat-rate travel allowance
  • The value of the flat-rate is listed in your letter of award.
  • Insurance If your insurance is not covered by your host institution, the DAAD will pay you an insurance allowance within the regular and regional costs of insurance



  • have successfully completed generally a three-year university degree/144 CP (Master candidates) or a five-year university degree/180 CP (doctoral candidates) with above average results (upper third of class)
  • clearly show motivation and a strong commitment
  • have a thorough knowledge of English language
  • have completed their last university degree not more than 6 years ago at the time of application
  • must be nationals or permanent resident of a South East Asian country

Documents to be submitted:

  • DAAD application form duly filled (available in the DAAD-Portal)
  • Hand signed curriculum vitae (please use the European specimen form at http://europass.cedefop., including a list of
  • publications (if applicable).
  • 2 Recommendation letter by university teachers
  • Letter of admission to the host university/ institution/network
  • Certified copies of university degree certificates including transcripts
  • Letter of motivation (if applicable: mentioning the planned research stay in Germany, see “Additional benefits”)
  • Copy of the passport
  • Language certificate

Ph.D. candidates have to submit the following additional documents:

  • Declaration of acceptance from the academic supervisor
  • Detailed and precise Ph.D. proposal, including detailed work and timetable (if applicable: mentioning the planned research stay in Germany, see “Additional benefits”)
  • Abstract of the proposal on one page (please include name and title of proposal
