Sidra Medical and Research Center scholarship

Sidra Medical and Research Center offers a dynamic environment in which to begin your career in science and medicine. Sidra’s Scholarship Program is suitable for students (Qataris/Qatari mothers) pursuing higher education in Medicine and Allied Health.

The Scholarship Program helps students to obtain the necessary qualifications to begin a career at Sidra. Through our support and commitment to student development, our goal is to develop future leaders in Qatar in the healthcare field, and to ensure a highly skilled workforce committed to the country.

Application Deadline: June 30th, 2017

Institution of Study: Qatar Universities  and other international universities as listed in the ministry of education and higher education website

Country of Study:  Qatar and other countries

Scholarship Type: Provides scholarships to students, including financial and non-financial assistance, while they complete their undergraduate studies in a variety of universities in Qatar and internationally which are listed in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s (MOE) website.

Upon graduation, the scholarship recipients take up positions at Sidra – working towards the realization of our three essential missions: Patient Care, Medical Education and Biomedical Research.

Level of education: High school,Undergraduate,Masters

Eligibility

Scholarships are available for Qataris and students with Qatari mothers.

Scholarships can be applied for by students studying the following types of degrees:

  • MD or equivalent
  • Bachelor (Nursing and Pharmacy)
  • Allied Health Programs

Fields of study

Applicants may apply for scholarships to support their studies in clinical majors only (Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health).

Medicine:

Applicants who wish to apply for a scholarship in Medicine, need to be aware of the services provided at Sidra which are mainly women and children services. Scholarship recipients will be expected to specialize in a field available and acceptable by Sidra. The below list of specialties and sub-specialties reflects the range of services provided at Sidra in which scholarship recipients are to specialize:

General admission requirements for new high school students

Undergraduate scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:

Medicine applicants:

  • 80% or higher on Secondry School Education Certificate (80% Math, 80% English, 80% Science)
  • Minimum English language requirements:
  • IELTS 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each band)
  • TOEFL PBT (paper-based test): 525
  • TOEFL iBT (internet-based test): 70
  • A letter of acceptance from a university acceptable to Sidra and in a field of study required by Sidra

Nursing applicants:

  • 65% or higher on Secondry School Education Certificate
  • Minimum English language requirements:
  • IELTS 5.5 (minimum 5.0 in each band)
  • TOEFL PBT (paper-based test): 525
  • TOEFL iBT (internet-based test): 70
  • A letter of acceptance from a university acceptable to Sidra and in a field of study required by Sidra

Pharmacy and Allied Health programs applicants:
